AI for high-dimensional cardiovascular data (all levels)
Data Science and Its Applications is an exciting research department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). We study a whole host of problems ranging from how to perform data science with ChatGPT, to designing personalized predictions and patient self-experiments through smartphone apps, to geospatial modelling of global crises and human development. Throughout all of our research, we seek to promote reproducible, transparent and explainable methods that advance social good.
We have positions available at all levels, from research assistants and MSc stipends through to PhD scholarships, postdoctoral research and group leader roles.
Presently, the DSA group is actively recruiting research assistants, MSc, PhD students, postdocs to contribute to the CurATime project, developing AI/ML methods to assist analysis and scientific discovery within high-dimensional biomedical data. We seek enthusiastic candidates ready to start immediately.
The project involves highly granular data collected as part of the Gutenberg Health Study, including genotyping, DNA methylation, transcriptomics, proteomics and extensive time-varying clinical information.
Successful candidates can come from any background but should have demonstrable experience and interest in modern machine learning methods, such as transfer learning, representation learning and knowledge graphs as well as awareness of connected issues including data ethics and algorithmic explainability.
