Jan is a PhD student in the DSA department led by Professor Sebastian Vollmer. His research focuses on topics of scientific machine learning within the project Physics-informed Anomaly Detection.

Previously, he worked on explainable anomaly detection and reinforcement learning for driver modeling in motorsport.
